Maijishan Grottoes - Oriental Sculpture Museum.

The Maijishan Grottoes are located in the Qinling Mountains in Tianshui. The mountain is named after its shape, which resembles a wheat stack. The Maijishan Grottoes are one of the four major grottoes in China. The caves were built during the Northern Wei Dynasty and are mainly made of clay sculptures. They are known as the "Oriental Sculpture Museum". Researchers believe that the statues of Maijishan have two major characteristics. One is a strong sense of national consciousness. Buddhism was introduced from the west and passed through the Hexi Corridor. The shape and clothing of the Buddha statues have been freed from foreign influences. The second is the trend of secularization, turning the gods of heaven into secular people. In many grottoes, it feels that there are the most Buddha statues with clear smiles here. After watching the 133rd special cave "Sakyamuni Meeting" and "Oriental Smile", the characteristics of humanization are particularly prominent. After turning off the lights, the eyes of Sakyamuni and Rahula will have the effect of tears in their eyes. When father and son meet, they are full of worries, and thousands of words turn into choking.
