A Trip to Tianshui Spicy Hot Pot ∣ Tianshui Jixin Temple, a Great Place to Appreciate Ancient Architecture!

👍Highly Recommended: Tianshui Jixin Temple was originally built in the Yuan Dynasty as a county office. In the Ming Dynasty, it was converted into a City God Temple, with Jixin from Tianshui serving as the City God (he followed Liu Bang to the west to overthrow the Qin Dynasty at the end of the Qin Dynasty, and Liu Bang, in recognition of his sacrifice to protect his lord, appointed him as the City God, making him the only City God to be ennobled by an emperor). Hence, the name 'Tianshui Jixin Temple,' a national key cultural relic protection unit. 🌟Highlights: At the entrance of Jixin Temple stands a grand and intricate four-pillar, three-gate archway with mortise and tenon joints. It has a three-tiered eaves hip roof, painted decorations, and small statues of the Eight Immortals. The famous calligrapher Yu Youren from the Republic of China inscribed 'Temple of General Ji, Loyal and Brave of the Han Dynasty.' The temple has a three-gate, four-courtyard layout, with ancient trees providing ample shade and buildings arranged in an orderly manner. The main hall is the Five Phoenix Tower, followed by a straight corridor with a rolled roof, where plaques from various dynasties are hung. Further back are the worship hall, offering hall, main hall, and sleeping hall, all tightly arranged and elevated layer by layer, exuding an ancient charm. The main hall and sleeping hall are relics from the Yuan Dynasty or earlier, making them some of the oldest architectural remains in Tianshui. Inside the main hall, there is a mural called 'City God Patrol,' which is said to be one of the most well-preserved Taoist propaganda murals in Tianshui.
