Tianshui Tourism｜Don't Miss Xianren Cliff in Maiji Mountain

Xianren Cliff in Tianshui was once a sanctuary for scholars and poets to retreat and cultivate themselves. It is said to be named after ancient sages who secluded themselves here and attained immortality. This is a severely underrated scenic spot in Tianshui, combining natural scenery, religious culture, and humanistic landscapes. It is part of the Maiji Mountain Grottoes and should not be missed. After visiting Maiji Mountain, there is a direct shuttle bus (8 yuan/person) from the parking lot, which is very convenient. Recommended Route: Xianren Lake → Qianfo Cliff (South Cliff) → Sheli Cliff (South Cliff) → Luohan Hall (East Cliff) → Mozhen Hall (West Cliff) → Niangniang Hall (West Cliff) → Lingying Temple (West Cliff) 🌟 The statues on the South Cliff were carved during the Northern Wei Dynasty and rebuilt during the Song, Yuan, and Ming Dynasties. The statues represent the Thousand Buddhas of the Worthy Kalpa. Most of them have been lost over time, with only a faint image of the Buddha and his son remaining. To the left of the South Cliff is Sheli Cliff. 🌟 At the foot of the East Cliff, there is a group of ancient buildings from the Ming Dynasty called Luohan Hall, next to Guanyin Spring. Northeast of the East Cliff, there is Ladder Cave, 9.2 meters above the ground, accessible by a high ladder. It consists of Shilian Cave, Sanfo Cave, and Luojia Cave. Inside the caves, there are statues of long-haired immortals, the Three Buddhas, descendants of Zhu Yuanzhang, and Qing Dynasty calligrapher Wang Liaowang, as well as some murals. 🌟 At the foot of the West Cliff, there are 14 ancient buildings built along the cliff, embedded under a semicircular cliff, arranged in a row, grand and magnificent, awe-inspiring. These buildings, from east to west, mainly include Pilu Hall, Lingying Temple, Wenshu Hall, Guanyin Hall, Sanqing Hall, Caishen Hall, Dizang Hall, and Sanjiao Hall. They are collectively known as Lingying Temple, the essence of Xianren Cliff. 🌈 Scenic Spot Features: The architectural complex of Xianren Cliff was built and renovated by various dynasties after the Northern Wei Dynasty. The layout of the buildings follows the mountain's terrain, mostly in the form of cliff-side houses. The statues and murals here are beautifully shaped and well-preserved, reflecting the integration of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. 🎟️ Ticket Information: Tickets are 40 yuan/person, and the round-trip electric car is 10 yuan/person. 🕐️ Scenic Spot Opening Hours: Summer 08:00-17:30; Winter 09:00-17:00 💗 Other Tips: There may not be sufficient dining facilities within the scenic area, so bring enough water and food; the terrain is complex, so wear comfortable, non-slip shoes while touring.
