| Over 1600 Years of Oriental Beauty. The summer vacation of the mischievous kids is finally over, and my holiday has begun. Starting from Xi'an, it takes an hour and a half to reach Tianshui. Besides enjoying spicy hotpot in Tianshui, I went to see the Maijishan Grottoes, one of the four major grottoes in China, to admire the beauty of Buddhist statues spanning over 1600 years. Starting from Fuxi Temple, it takes about 1 hour by car to reach Maijishan. Taking a shuttle bus directly to the foot of the mountain, I was fortunate to witness the famous 'Maiji Misty Rain' scene, which is the most famous of the eight scenic spots in Tianshui. On the steep cliffs, the caves are connected by suspended walkways, forming a spectacular view of caves carved into the cliffs and walkways suspended in mid-air. Maijishan is geographically closer to ancient Chang'an, so its statue art is greatly influenced by the Chang'an style. The Buddha statues in the grottoes have flowing and dynamic robes, slightly open almond-shaped eyes, and subtly upturned mouth lines. They are famous for their unique 'Oriental Smile' and exquisite clay sculpture art, earning the title of 'Oriental Sculpture Gallery'. Thousands of years have silently passed on this land, yet these Buddha statues still smile, quietly waiting for visitors. These smiles that have traversed millennia make us deeply feel that these statues are not just cultural relics but also travelers through time and space. They stroll through time, smiling as they watch over the world, protecting the land of China, ensuring that our civilization, despite enduring hardships, remains glorious and splendid. ⚠️Warm Tips: ✔️The ticket for Maijishan Grottoes is 80 yuan, which only includes ordinary grottoes.
