A Century of Chinese History Seen Through Tianjin - Tianjin Museum

"A Century of Chinese History Seen Through Tianjin" is one of the most important permanent exhibitions at the Tianjin Museum. The exhibition displays the tumultuous journey of Tianjin from the aftermath of the Opium Wars to the establishment of the People's Republic of China over a century, showcasing the people of Tianjin's struggle for national independence and the realization of a prosperous and strong country. It highlights the indomitable spirit and relentless efforts of generations of noble-minded individuals and heroes who rose up against humiliation and fought tirelessly on the land of Jinghai. The exhibition emphasizes the historical significance of modern Tianjin in the past century of China through aspects such as resistance to foreign aggression, political reform, economic development, cultural integration, and the New Democratic Revolution led by the Communist Party of China, revealing the complex process of Tianjin's development into the largest industrial and commercial city in northern China and a forefront of Sino-Western cultural exchange. Tianjin Museum is open to the public free of charge, and visitors can book tickets online seven days in advance. After a successful reservation, visitors can enter the museum by presenting the reservation code and valid identification, including the second-generation ID card, residence permit for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents, and the original third-generation social security card of Tianjin. Normal opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 to 16:30, with last entry at 16:00 (closed on Mondays).
