Tianjin Museum, a Treasure of History and Art

Tianjin Museum, proudly located at No. 62 Pingjiang Road, Hexi District, Tianjin, is a comprehensive art and history hall that magnificently showcases the essence of ancient Chinese art and the historical changes of the city of Tianjin. It is considered the largest cultural treasure trove in the Tianjin region, integrating collections, research, and exhibitions. The museum's collection is distinctive, not only deeply exploring and displaying the treasures of Chinese art from various dynasties but also highly valuing the collection and preservation of modern historical documents and local historical materials. By the end of 2019, the museum had amassed nearly 200,000 precious items, covering the solemnity of ancient bronzes, the elegance of ceramics, the fragrance of calligraphy and painting, the warmth of jade seals, the intricacy of scholar's objects, the historical imprints of oracle bones and currencies, the cultural treasures of Dunhuang manuscripts, the ingenuity of bamboo, wood, ivory, and horn artifacts, as well as a rich variety of local folk crafts and modern historical documents. Additionally, the museum houses 200,000 volumes of books and materials, among which there are as many as 137,909 sets of precious cultural relics, each whispering the passage of time and bearing witness to history.
