Kawaramachi Tsumairi Merchants District has been designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings by the national government, and even today, the historical scenery along the approximately 600m street is well preserved. Telephone poles and power lines are buried underground to preserve the scenery. The road is wide, and walking down the street gives you the feeling of a post town, allowing you to walk while reminiscing about the past. It is also popular with young people, with stylish general stores, cafes, and hotels that can be rented out as a whole.
