#SeptemberDestinations2025 #Hiroshima #Okunoshima #Rabbit #Seto Inland Sea Scenery Surrounded by the Seto Inland Sea and fluffy bunnies, Kyukan Okunoshima Address: Okunoshima, Tadami-cho, Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture Transportation: JR/Shinkansen Mihara Station - Take a ferry from Mihara Port (ferry service from Mihara Port only on Saturdays and Sundays) or JR Tadami Station - Take a ferry from Tadami Port Pros: * All rooms face the sea, offering stunning views * The room is spacious, with a porch, perfect for two people with two luggage unpacked * A large public bath with hot spring baths * Both dinner and breakfast are buffets, and I think the dishes are quite good for a small island, with a wide variety and delicious flavors. * Waking up and seeing bunnies as soon as you walk out the door is a true bliss. * The front desk staff is friendly and patient. Cons: * Inconvenient transportation, a bit remote, and a ferry ride is required. * Price is not cheap (It's a one-night, two-meal plan.) * There are no convenience stores on the island, so the only food options at night are drinks and ice cream from vending machines. * There's nowhere to go on the island at night, so I had to go to bed early and get up early. Overall Review: Highly recommended for rabbit lovers. It's a very relaxing experience, and the hotel's facilities and food are above average. I especially recommend bringing your own rabbit feed, as it's not sold on the island, nor at Mihara Station. They do sell it at Tadami Station, but the bags are very small and only contain a small amount. You'll run out of feed within 100 meters of walking around the island. (I also saw Japanese people, presumably locals, bringing a bag of feed onto the island in a ziplock bag.)
