📍 The Qiao's Grand Courtyard of Qiao Songnian from Shanxi is very famous, and the Qiao Garden at No. 68 Hailing North Road in the old city of Taizhou can be regarded as another 'Qiao's Grand Courtyard' in Northern Jiangsu. It is also known as the first garden on the left bank of the Huai River by later generations, a key national cultural relic protection unit, and a national 4A scenic spot. 📍 The Qiao Garden has changed owners and names several times: — It was originally built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty as the private residence and garden of Chen Yingfang, the Qing of the Taipu Temple. It was initially called Risheng Garden, derived from Tao Yuanming's 'Returning Poem' 'The garden is interesting because of the sun'; — During the Yongzheng, Qianlong, and Jiaqing periods, Gao Fengzhu, the governor of Gaolu Temple, owned this garden. The cultural taste and gardening art reached its peak. Later, three stone bamboo shoots were erected in the garden and renamed Sanfeng Garden; — During the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, Wu Wenxi bought and renovated it, renaming it 'Zhe Garden'; — After it was owned by Qiao Songnian, the salt transport commissioner of Lianghuai, it was called Qiao Garden, which continues to this day. 📍 Qiao Garden is small and exquisite, a classic Jiangnan garden, with a layout similar to that of Ge Garden in Yangzhou.
