Yuantong Temple was built in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. It was the Buddhist temple of Zhu Meiyuan, the fifth son of Zhu Jixi, the King of Jin, and belonged to the royal family temple of the Ming Dynasty. Yuantong Temple is a museum of architecture, sculpture, and murals.
