Newly opened in Taipei: Taiwanese dining and wine experience in a century-old historic building

Taipei. Guting Station| @pantoh212 This time, thanks to a friend, I was lucky enough to eat at the newly opened "Huishi Pān-toh". This place was formerly the former residence of Dai Yanhui, the first Taiwanese president of the Judiciary, which was built during the Japanese colonial period. It not only completely preserves the red brick exterior walls, wooden roof frames, and Japanese-style edges, but after being restored with modern design, the space is so beautiful that people can't help but take pictures as soon as they walk in. The meals are centered around #餐酒办桌, reinterpreting the traditional banquet culture and transforming familiar flavors into innovative and exquisite set menus. This time we had the lunch set, which included appetizers, soups, cold dishes, main courses, desserts and drinks. The whole set was very rich. I particularly like the Yunlin garlic and clam soup, which is rich and sweet, and so delicious that I want to have a refill. There are two choices for the main course. I chose #米香大虾辣味粄面. The chewy Yilan rice noodles are paired with a slightly spicy sauce, and the taste is just right. The fried rice-covered prawns are a little dry, but they are full of aroma and crispy. The whole thing is very Taiwanese and goes well with rice. The dessert #柿饼乳切 is also very interesting. The outer layer is persimmons coated with sugar, and the inner filling is smooth and delicate cheese. It has a dual feeling of nostalgia and novelty. It is also served with crispy paper made of strawberry jam, which has a rich taste! Overall, if you like innovative Taiwanese cuisine experience, I really recommend giving it a try! At this price, the CP value is very high ~ and the menu will adjust the dishes according to the season. If you like this combination, remember to make a reservation quickly! Lunch Set $980 / 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 / ✅ Hui Shi pān-toh 📍 Address: No. 2, Lane 1, Section 2, Nanchang Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City ⏰ Opening hours: 11:30–21:30 (closed on Mondays) 🚇Transportation: MRT Guting Station 🎟️ Tickets: Free admission #NaWhereToGo #TaipeiNewOpening #HuiShi #pāntoh #HuiShiRestaurant&Tavern #CentennialOldHouse #Restaurant&Tavern #TaiwanCreativeCuisine #TaipeiRestaurant&Tavern #TableCulture #TaipeiFoodRecommendations #InnovativeTaiwaneseCooking #NewOpeningRestaurant #NewOpening #GutingFood #GutingStation
