Chen Dexing Ancestral Hall

Chen Dexing Ancestral Hall is a Chen family ancestral shrine and historical site located in Xingming Village, Datong District, Taipei City. Originally situated next to Dengying Academy, it was later relocated next to Penglai Elementary School in Datong District. In the 1970s, it faced plans for demolition due to the expansion of the elementary school, which influenced amendments to the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act. Designed and constructed by the renowned master craftsman Chen Yingbin, the front hall features a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof, intricate wooden structures, and exquisite dougong brackets. The eaves and roof ridges have smooth curves, showcasing high artistic value.
