The only hotel in Suining I'd visit twice!!! Fulfills all my needs

Full review of the first Marriott Hotel in Suining I recently visited the first Marriott Hotel in Suining, and I'm here to share my honest review, hoping to provide some guidance for those planning to visit. I. Basic Hotel Information This hotel costs CNY 500/night during holidays, including breakfast for two, which is quite cost-effective. The basic room type is very spacious, equipped with a bathtub and floor-to-ceiling windows. There is a large tree outside the window, creating a unique atmosphere that I personally love. II. Service Experience I must say, the performance of the front desk staff varied. My friend stayed in a Peppa Pig-themed room last year. When I made my booking, I didn't see any themed rooms, so I asked the front desk if I could upgrade on the spot for an additional fee, specifically requesting the Peppa Pig-themed room. However, the front desk staff said that they had never had this type of room. I then asked about the price of the Octonauts-themed room, and she replied that it would cost about CNY 200 extra, but the room was not ready yet and asked me to wait. After waiting for an hour, a different front desk staff member processed my check-in. I asked again if I could upgrade to the Octonauts-themed room for an additional fee, but was told that the hotel was in the process of communicating and coordinating due to copyright issues, and that this room type was temporarily suspended. I was a little uncomfortable at the time, as the first front desk staff member was clearly not familiar with the business. However, there was also good news. The hotel does a good job in terms of member benefits, such as providing 1,000 points, suite upgrades, and complimentary breakfast. The happy hour was also arranged at the Chinese restaurant for dinner, where the Kung Pao Chicken was amazing. III. Children's Facilities Although the hotel is advertised as a family-friendly hotel, the children's facilities are somewhat disappointing. The rooms do not provide children's toiletries or slippers, and there are no organized family activities. There is a paid amusement hall in the hotel, which operates on a token-purchase basis. The prices are relatively affordable, but the overall environment and facilities are quite ordinary. The children's train costs CNY 50 per ride for one adult and one child, and circles the hotel. A bag of carrots is provided, and the train stops at the petting zoo, which has pigs and rabbits, but the odor is strong. The slide is located in the Starry Sky Camp, which is not very attractive to children. There is also a paid picking garden, but it was not open when we went because the fruit was not ripe. IV. Breakfast Review The buffet breakfast was good, with a wide variety of options. The rib noodles were excellent and memorable. Even when it's crowded, the food is constantly replenished if you go later, so you don't have to worry about not being able to get what you want. V. "Little Sanya of Sichuan" Is Not What It Seems Before going, I was full of expectations because of the "Little Sanya of Sichuan" promotion, but I was a little disappointed after arriving. Since it is known as "Little Sanya", it's fine if there is no sea, but at least design a sandpit for children to play in. However, in reality, there are only a few palm trees at the entrance and "Little Sanya of Sichuan" billboards posted everywhere, which is a bit misleading. VI. Highlight - Island Cycling Although some aspects of the hotel fell short of expectations, the bicycle rental service outside the hotel gave us an unexpected surprise. There are various models such as two-person, four-person, and six-person bikes, and the daily rental fee is only CNY 60. We rode for two consecutive days. Cycling on Shengliandao Island is really pleasant. There are not many motor vehicles or tourists on the island, and families can chat while cycling. There are also many scenic spots worth stopping to admire along the way, allowing people to relax completely. VII. Other Comprehensive Reviews - Location: The hotel is located on Shengliandao Island, but there are not many activities to do on the island, and the overall feeling is slightly outdated, making it not suitable for a dedicated vacation. - Room: The upgraded open-space suite is quite spacious, but the facilities are a bit old. Since it is on a lower floor, the view is not ideal. - Facilities: The hotel is large, but unfortunately there is no swimming pool. The executive lounge has been moved to the front desk lobby bar, and the overall facilities are old. 🧹Soundproofing/Hygiene: The overall hygiene is good, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the soundproofing is good, ensuring a comfortable resting environment. 🏘️Room Type/Layout: The basic room type is spacious, and the upgraded suite has a reasonable layout and makes full use of the space, but the facilities are a bit old. 🛌Amenities/Facilities: The rooms are equipped with basic amenities such as bathtubs. The hotel has children's facilities such as an amusement hall and a small train, as well as a bicycle rental service, but some of the facilities are old, and common resort facilities such as a swimming pool are missing. 💰️Average Spending: CNY 500/night including breakfast for two during holidays, which is low for a Marriott hotel, and the overall spending is not high, making it cost-effective. 💗Other tips: 1. It's only a 1-hour bullet train ride from Chongqing, making it ideal for families who want to take their kids out for the weekend but don't want to be crowded in the main urban area. 2. Don't have too high expectations for the "Little Sanya of Sichuan" promotion. Focus on experiencing the hotel and other activities on Shengliandao Island. 3. Be sure to experience the island cycling, and plan your cycling route in advance to better enjoy the scenery along the way.
