Our group of four came here to visit after visiting Longfeng Ancient Town in Suining. This is a newly built temple that was opened in 2015. Daxingning Temple is a scenic spot in Longfeng Ancient Town that reproduces the prosperous style of the ancient Xingning Kingdom. 2. Daxingning City covers a total area of ​​15 acres and has a construction area of ​​approximately 6,000 square meters. The temple adopts the traditional Han architectural style, highlighting the ancient vicissitudes and the heavy sense of history. 3. The main buildings and sightseeing spots of Daxingning Temple include: the mountain gate, the Great Compassion Pavilion and the Thousand Buddhas Building. On both sides are the monks' residence building, the lay Buddhist building, the abbot's courtyard, the viewing hall, the Dragon and Phoenix Academy and other buildings. ‌ 4. Dabei Pavilion is the core building of Daxingning Temple, enshrining a 10-meter-high four-faced Guanyin statue, which is solemn and majestic. 5. Daxingning Temple has a long history, which can be traced back to the ancient Xingning Kingdom established by King Miaozhuang in Suining. Its capital is today's Longfeng Ancient Town. King Miaozhuang's third daughter, Princess Miaoshan, later became a nun and practiced Buddhism and became the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. 6. Daxingning Temple is not only the earliest Buddhist temple of Princess Miaoshan, but also the ancestral temple of King Miaozhuang. It can be said that it is the origin of Guanyin Bodhisattva. Therefore, Suining City became the hometown of Guanyin. 7. When we came, there were not many visitors, but people in the temple said that every time there was an important prayer meeting, there was an endless stream of pilgrims, the courtyard was filled with the smoke of incense, and it was extremely prosperous. I particularly like a couplet in the temple, which reads: The six senses are pure only when they are the way, and the four elements are empty only when they are Zen. Burning incense intentionally to find the Buddha's land, and doing good intentionally is like a mountain of clouds.
