sosingapore I’ve always wondered about sosingapore. It looks so artsy, so pricey and is located in Raffles Place, which means most places are closed during the weekend so there isn’t much to do. Who stays here really? Tourists or travellers on work trips? But after exploring the hotel and staying in the So/Lofty suite, I admit I’m quite taken by the experience. At 85sqm, this is the second highest room category. They call it a suite but I would call it a lofty room. How do they calculate this floor area? They include the private balcony outside which we only stepped out into twice just for the fun of it. The bedroom and living space would’ve been perfect if the TV were nearer or 20inches bigger. At least, a consolation is you can log into your own Netflix here, and they offer many complimentary movies-on-demand. It was pretty cool to have all the controls accessible via the iPad provided. You can adjust the temperature, the lighting, the curtains, and the tv etc from it. I’m glad they still have separate physical light switches so I don’t have to look for the iPad just to turn on the bathroom light. It’s a very pretty room to stay in, and grows on you and I must recommend the Sofitel MyBed because it is oh so comfortable! I slept like a baby here. But at the end of the day, it’s the overall aesthetics that made my day and my stay feel so special. The super high 3m ceilings, lots of expansive space, colourful use of artwork and decor, and the gorgeous French Coppola inspired Light Box illuminated onto the ceiling made me feel as if I were staying in a Parisian or Italian apartment..
