Old Chang Kee is a household name in Singapore and is also behind The Curry Times dine-in outlets (Do read my Trip Moment on the Curry Times outlet at Novena Square). The history of Old Chang Kee goes as far back as 1956 when it first started out as a humble stall in a coffee shop just outside the former Rex cinema along McKenzie Road. For over half a century, Singaporeans from all walks of life have enjoyed Old Chang Kee's lip-smacking Curry'O / Sardine'O curry puffs, Spring'O deep fried spring roll and various quick bites. Old Chang Kee is renowned worldwide for its delectable handmade Curry'O that are filled with yummy curried potatoes, chicken chunks and a pleasant slice of hardboiled egg, all cooked in their own signature recipe blend of herbs and spices. Do check out my photos of their Curry'O for a more visual impact as I munch through one lol. You can clearly see generous chunks of chicken and the egg too ! Other favs on skewer sticks include their Big Fishball (my quick fix favourite when rushing around and needed something to nibble on in between meals to quash my hunger pangs), Sotong Head, Sotong Wing and Sotong Ball. Make sure to ask for their in-house dipping chilli sauce ! You can also try their very crispy deep fried Chicken Wing, Chicken Nugget, Cheezy Chicken Sausage and even their Chicken Chunky Pop in a cup. If you go early in the morning, you can also check out their breakfast menu too. I will usually buy the Dry Mee Siam @ $2.60 ALA carte which is just the right portion for the morning and not too spicy.
