Front Wave, Back Wave - Gao Yuan & Li Xiaoliang Dual Exhibition encore - Gao Yuan & Li Xiaoliang Gao Yuan and Li Xiaoliang's joint exhibition creates a visual journey through time, exploring the evolution and spiritual essence of Chinese rock culture from diverse perspectives. On L1, Gao Yuan presents "Hong Kong Coliseum 1994," focusing on the electrifying rock scene of the 1990s. His unique documentary style recreates the "Rock China Power" concert, hailed as the pinnacle of Chinese rock, capturing the passion and energy of the youth of that era. On L2, Li Xiaoliang's "Shaky Room" takes a different approach. Since 2008, he has used his lens to follow the lives of rock musicians who shaped his youth, exploring how the rock spirit endures and transforms in everyday life through a distinctive visual playlist. Displayed together, these distinct yet interconnected works create a cross-generational dialogue, tracing the glory of rock's golden age while reflecting the more personal and everyday spiritual world of contemporary rock musicians.
