Conrad's design language is more sophisticated but the color scheme is too dark (I've always said Yabu's color choices are cleverly appealing - the cinnabar red of Rosewood Guangzhou, the celadon of Park Hyatt, and the ochre of Conrad are all traditional Chinese color schemes). For portrait backgrounds, none are as good as Shangri-La. Also, the Langham in the third tier offers excellent value for money and is very photogenic. Its corner rooms and Park Hyatt's Room 22 are two standout room types in Shenzhen's mid-to-high price range. W Hotel's room design is ordinary with narrow windows, but the rooms are spacious. With a higher budget, the panoramic suite offers bay views that are arguably the best in Shenzhen. Conrad offers generous room sizes with well-planned suite layouts and wide corridors that give a mansion-like feel. These three are the top choices. Park Hyatt has small bathtubs and narrow layouts, but Room 22 is a gem. Can you get a base room at W Hotel for 3k? Andaz is compromised by the building structure - the exterior frame and air vents forced Tony Chi to use white screens that block natural light. Corner rooms have low space utilization, and the sofa suites are puzzling. The St. Regis Qianhai and Shangri-La Nanshan have similar layouts and decor, like nesting dolls, but to be fair, Shangri-La's suites have excellent natural light!
