Shanghai North Bund Sofitel Hotel Report: Reopened in 2024 with Full French Elegance!

This Sofitel, which reopened in 2024 after a complete renovation of an old hotel, has been so successfully transformed that there are hardly any traces of its former self 👍 Scoring each aspect: Lobby 9.8, Rooms 9.0, Service 9.3, Location 9.2! The biggest highlight is undoubtedly the lobby design (Figures 1-6), exuding French elegance and romance, making it incredibly photogenic both day and night 📸 However, the rooms (Figures 7-9) lack standout features, which is a bit disappointing. Despite being a high-end brand under the Accor Group, the rooms lack a coffee maker, and the air conditioning was not functional even in early April in Shanghai (with nighttime indoor temperatures around 25°C), which are areas that need improvement. The location is slightly away from the North Bund and also far from the nearest subway station, so be mindful of transportation when planning your stay.
