The only hotel in Shanghai that has let me stay three times on business trips!

Shanghai📍Qiantan Shangri-La Hotel · Deluxe Club King Room I didn’t expect the supporting hotel for Qiantan Taikoo Li to be Shangri-La, but compared to many Shangri-La hotels with a more traditional style from the last century, this one’s interior design is truly refreshing, with a modern retro vibe. 🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness: The hotel maintains good overall cleanliness, with a tidy environment that provides guests with a comfortable stay. 🏘️Room Type/Layout: When choosing a room, you can select based on your needs: the suites are not large; the river view rooms (including the executive river view rooms) offer a “first-line” river view with a relatively wide perspective, but the executive river view rooms are only 35 sqm; the 45 sqm super deluxe room is 10 sqm larger but has fewer views, with the window facing an office building when the curtains are drawn. This time I chose the 45 sqm super deluxe room. Upon entering, the wardrobe and luggage rack are on the left, and the bathroom is on the right. The extra 10 sqm compared to the river view room is used to create a work and leisure area by the window, which can be completely separated from the bed by a sliding door. Although not particularly spacious, it’s useful when one person is resting and another is working. The room style is dignified and elegant, with an overall tone that is not dark and accented with bright colors. The partition between the bathroom and bedroom uses colored frosted glass with an old Shanghai style, and the semi-transparent, hazy light creates a strong atmosphere, reminiscent of the style of the Nanjing Zhongshan Suning Golf Hotel. 🛌Amenities/Facilities: The room is equipped with a semi-automatic toilet, a basic Toto bathtub, a hairdryer that is not Dyson, no capsule coffee machine, and a water purifier replacing some bottled water. Tea is sold in the room. Overall, it feels like a room that has been renovated for many years, which doesn’t quite match the location of a hotel newly opened in 2023. The bench at the foot of the bed is rare in such a relatively narrow space. The TV is large but cannot cast screens and has no built-in movies. The mini fridge operates on a paid basis. The tea bags are Shangri-La’s own brand and of good quality. The turndown service is meticulous, with used items promptly replenished, and room service responds quickly. However, the socket design is lacking: there are no visible sockets by the bedside or sofa, requiring opening the drawer below to use them, which is cumbersome, takes up space, and may pose safety risks. The wireless charging next to the socket is of limited practicality. The control panel on the bedside table is uniquely designed. 💰Average Cost: The base room price would be more reasonable around 900 RMB; currently, the configuration is slightly low for the price. 💗Other Tips: The hotel’s decoration style is distinctive, and although the space is small, it feels exquisite, but there are some practical shortcomings. Overall, with its unique design and convenient location, it still has certain value for staying.
