Top stars "Douding" CP meet-up, don’t miss these new May Day attractions → Spring brings life, adorable animals go viral, and these new highlights at Shanghai Wildlife Park during May Day are a must-see! The small animal park welcomes new residents. They are the "Flash" of Zootopia, with smiling faces and adorable looks—they are sloths. Unlike the three-toed sloths in the movie, the new residents in the small animal park are two-toed sloths. Their main differences lie in the number of toes, cervical vertebrae, and some physiological traits. To welcome the new residents, we have built a naturalistic habitat in the small animal park, decorated with abundant tropical plants. Since sloths live in trees, hang upside down by hooking their claws on branches, and move along the trees, the designers installed simulated vines throughout the forest and added treehouses for them to rest among the trees. Visitors can watch these new residents up close in the small animal park, witnessing how they leisurely hang on branches, move their bodies slowly, and enjoy their peaceful time. Dingding and friends meet-up. This May Day holiday, Dingding will bring many new friends to meet everyone! There will be filming of related videos and photos shared on social media platforms, with a chance to receive limited edition postcards~ Time: May 1 - May 5, 1:00 PM Location: Small Animal Park. The two top stars Dingding and Doudou finally meet! What will happen when the outgoing Doudou meets the shy Dingding? Holding hands? Eye contact? Cuddling? Our little anteater Xiaobei will also come to the lawn to meet everyone~ Xiaobei has grown from a "little accessory" on mom’s back to a capable "little man"! Many adorable animal babies are also making their group debut in the small animal park. The fluffy white tiger cub "Naitang" loves interacting with visitors through the glass, with curious, watery blue eyes watching you. You might even catch Naitang out for a walk! The well-fed brown bear cub naps with eyes half-closed, its little belly full after milk, occasionally rolling over to stretch. Flamingos, capybaras, and penguins stroll by. Walking along the tree-lined avenue, you might encounter unexpected surprises. A flock of flamingo "supermodels" walks toward you, a "troop" of capybaras marches leisurely in neat steps down the avenue. Curious penguin chicks strut proudly on the tiger restaurant lawn, Jiji and Manman sometimes flap their wings and call out, greeting visitors. The brand-new cultural and creative store—"Creative Story House"—is officially open! Located next to the African elephant exhibit, the store features a lively atmosphere with bright yellow and blue colors. Elephant sculptures and window stickers of red pandas and giant pandas create a fun photo backdrop! The store offers many exquisite souvenirs featuring animal elements, including plush toys, stationery, and figurines—simply irresistible! Unlock more exciting new highlights at Shanghai Wildlife Park this May Day! Highlight 2: The fluffy "Naitang" baby is here! A new member has arrived at the small animal park! The white tiger cub "Naitang" makes her debut. Naitang is a female white tiger, born on February 19, 2025. Her entire body is milky white, with faint chocolate-colored stripes, a pink nose, mouth, and paw pads. The most beautiful feature is her blue eyes that seem to have built-in beauty lenses, always looking at you with sparkling clarity. Naitang is lively and playful, loves to cuddle with keepers, like a soft, sweet big white rabbit candy, hence the name "Naitang" (Milk Candy). Whenever someone approaches the glass, curious Naitang quickly rushes over, pressing her furry body against the glass, tilting her head, and cuddling with visitors like a mischievous "big cat"~ In captivity, some animal mothers get anxious after giving birth. The exhaustion and weakness from natural delivery can cause anxiety, and first-time mothers may abandon their babies or produce insufficient milk. At such times, keepers take over the care of the babies. Most of the babies in the small animal park nursery are here for this reason. Naitang was tiny at birth, weighing about 1000 grams. Like other babies, her growth depends on keepers’ 24/7 care. During feeding, keepers carefully adjust the milk temperature and feed at the best angle to prevent choking from fast sucking. When she cannot urinate or defecate independently, keepers gently massage her with fingers, simulating maternal warmth to help her complete these basic life functions. For cleaning, keepers gently wipe every inch of her skin like a mother, keeping her clean and healthy. Everyone is welcome to meet the fluffy Naitang baby at the small animal park! On nice days, you might even catch her out for a walk~ Highlight 3: Seven giraffe babies make their group debut for the first time! Shanghai Wildlife Park recently welcomed new faces to meet visitors—seven lively giraffe babies make their group debut! Besides the familiar "Five Siblings" giraffes, new babies have joined! In the specially designed giraffe exhibit, the seven little giraffes show off their unique personalities~ The most steady "Haige" often stands at the front like a big brother, alert to the surroundings; the most playful "Haixin" loves chasing everyone around; the greediest "Hairui" can’t resist the tender leaves in the keeper’s hand; the shyest "Haibao" likes to hide in the distance, quietly observing visitors. They sometimes bury their heads in food, stretch their necks to rub each other, chase and play, or curiously make eye contact and greet visitors, all adorably charming. Now, they are all energetic, with heights over 2.6 meters, and big brother "Haige" even over 3 meters, gradually showing the height advantage of giraffes. When they run, they are like a gust of wind, full of vitality. Visitors can observe them up close through walking and vehicle areas and participate in interactive experiences to feel the warm connection between humans and animals.
