#Shanghai Wild Animal Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
A super detailed guide to a day trip to Shanghai Wild Animal Park
The Shanghai Wild Animal Park is located near Pudong Chuansha, not far from Disney, and we checked in together on this trip.
The park has three major areas and four performances (time attached later)
The three major areas are the walking area, the vehicle area, and the water area
If you are on a day trip, you can refer to our itinerary, which can basically cover all areas, plus two performances, while taking into account the rest of the children and the mid-game meal.
1️⃣ Be sure to bring a stroller
If you don't bring it, you can rent one after entering the park
60 yuan cap for one day
This money is worth it‼️
2️⃣ Order of play
You can play clockwise after entering the park
First go to feed the flamingos🦩 (extra charge, 30r)
Then look at the precious birds🦅
After watching, you can go straight to the sea lion performance hall
This performance is very popular, almost full
The performance is about 30 minutes, ending around 10:30
After watching the sea lion performance, you can take a walk by Swan Lake
Around 11 o'clock, take a bus to see the beasts
The zoo ticket includes bus fare, no extra charge
If you do feeding, extra charge
The stroller can be left at the station at this time
Push the car again after the vehicle area is over
If you are hungry after coming out, you can have lunch first
(There is a restaurant next to the station)
If you are not hungry, you can continue to play in the water area
The water area can be walked or boated
It is recommended to take a boat, which can save a lot of time and energy
You can also pay for feeding while boating
Give a small doll
This is up to the individual, it's casual
You can watch the performance in the sun square when you come out of the water area
The performance itself is quite shocking
Especially some performances, fleeting at a fast speed
Then you can go to see elephants🐘-zebras🦓-tigers🐯 and other beasts, this line is along, no detours
There are many restaurants along the way
You can stop for a meal and rest
There is also an ice and snow kingdom when you go out at the end
45r per person, unlimited time but not allowed to enter after coming out
I think it's average
But the child insisted on playing, so she played
Restaurant🍴
The Wild Animal Park has many restaurants
And the distribution is very scattered
Basically, you can find food in any area
We chose McDonald's🍔
There are many people, but there will be a place after a while
You can also bring your own snacks
The ticket checker at the door doesn't check
Tickets🎫
It is recommended to buy tickets on the platform before 9 o'clock or one day in advance
139r/person, 270r/double
Buy the feeding ticket on site
Just in case the queue is too long
Among them, kangaroos and giraffes🦒
Bb below 90cm is 🆓

Shanghai wildlife Animal Park is a great place to spend a day with your family or as a couple.
Animals are very well treated and appear to be healthy and well fed.
Best part is the „safari“ where you’re sitting in the cage instead of the animals
Getting there: close to Disney Land, Metro Line 6 Wild Animal Park in the South of Pudong
Highly recommend :)

SHANGHAI WILD ANIMAL PARK
Price : paid around ¥220 in total for everything
I enjoyed the circus the most . What a great show and yes there’s a circus inside the park . it’s a must watch. Paid ¥100 for the circus but the show was worth more than that . This park got a lot of animals some I’ve never seen or heard about them before. I was so shocked when I saw penguins and kangaroos. As an animal lover I had mixed feelings about the environment for animals.

Best zoo so far
🦝 This is the best zoo I ever visited so far the in China. The animals are fat, happy and more or less free. You won't see cages here, they put humans in the cages, but not animals, I think this is quite fair.
🦛 I visited this zoo many times and still didn't figured out how animals don't escape since there are no fences or anything, prevailing them from going far away. Lemurs have the whole island for themselves with trees and little tree houses, there is nothing that can stop them to go outside the island, but they just stay. So do the monkeys or flamingoes.
The zoo is huge, one day is probably not enough to visit all the animals. In the morning there is a chance to feed some animals, like giraffes, hippo, lamas, zebras or flamingoes. In the afternoon this is not allowed cause animals need to rest.
🐻 Himalaya bears are quite funny to watch, but sometimes they fight, reminding visitors they are still not pet animals. White and red pandas are adorable. Raccoons are very cute, it is entertaining to watch how they hunt for fish.
🐑 There is a small amusement park for kids and little cafeteria, but the food is quite questionable, so better bring some snacks with you.
Getting There is easy by subway line 16.

As a traveler I’m always hesitant about visiting zoos because I don’t want to see animals treated unethically. I had read reviews about the Wild Animal Park and some were good but some were really negative, so I decided to see for myself. They do have Animal performances which I’m not a fan of watching but for the most part I was impressed with this park/zoo. The animals seem to be happy with clean large enclosures. I am a teacher and actually brought my students for a field trip.

Devils are good places to go: Learn about the "virtual textbooks" of magical nature
It seems that almost all children have animal complexes, like animals are like their nature, for urban children The zoo is a vibrant textbook for children to understand the magical nature. Fortunately, Shanghai's public facilities and shuttle facilities are complete. There are two large zoos, the Shanghai Zoo and the Safari Park. The safari is also recommended. Larger, more complete animal species, relatively more interesting, and much liked by children.
Address: No.178, Nanliu Road, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, 35 km from the center of Shanghai, underground station of the No. 16 Line Safari Station, but the subway station is still a short distance from the entrance of the Safari Park. You can also walk or walk. .
Scale: Covering an area of 153 hectares (about 2,300 acres), the park is home to more than 200 species of rare wild animals, including giant pandas, golden monkeys, golden takins, crested pheasants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, white rhinoceros, and cheetahs. More than 10,000, the park is divided into two major areas, the car entry area and the pedestrian zone. It is a national 5A level scenic spot.
Pedestrian zone recommendation: The pandas can see giant pandas, giraffes, chimpanzees, flamingos, and virgin wild animals. The national treasure giant pandas are not to be missed. The sleek and cute appearance is very popular among children. Giraffe exhibition area You can also experience feeding the giraffe with leaves and feel the fun of intimate contact with the giraffe, but there is an additional charge of 20 yuan for feeding the giraffe.
: The car entry area is a form of animal distribution, keeping the exhibition mode of people in the 'cage', animal freedom, giving the animal more free space. It is necessary to take a tour bus in the park and send a train at intervals of 20 minutes. The tour takes half an hour. The tour bus is divided into a regular car and a feeding car (you can feed the animals in the car). The former is included in the ticket, the latter There is an additional charge (about 35 yuan per adult, no feed).
The car entry area can be immersed in a group of zebras, antelopes and other herbivores surrounded by leisurely foraging scenes, but also to see the wild tigers of the Northeast Tiger, African lions, bears, and other large beasts.
The Shanghai Wildlife Park also has a variety of performances. Every day from 13:30 to 14:30, there is a large square art performance during this time. It is very popular and almost packed. It is recommended to go early.
Ticket price: 130 yuan / person, WeChat to buy tickets or online purchase in advance is only 120 yuan, an adult with the same day tickets can be free to bring a child under 6 years old or below 1.3 meters into the park
haruxu.
In the memory, the animals in the zoo are not sleeping, they like to take the butt to the tourists, and the smell that is invisible in the air is really very sensational. The Shanghai Wildlife Park completely overturned my imagination of the zoo and was worth calling for her.
It is recommended to enter the park and go to the beast bus area to reduce the queue time. The zoo ticket contains free bus tickets. However, if you want to see feeding, you have to buy a special equipment ticket. I recommend everyone to take this close-up observation of the beast's iron bar car, which is very exciting! There is only a brown bear who has been eating in the car for a long time in order to eat radish. It is important to understand the interpretation and performance time of each district. You can get the timetable by picking up the tour map or downloading the official app. It is highly recommended to watch Russian circus, Panda Hall, Foxtail Island, Tiger Food, Sea Lion Show, Bear Bear Mountain Bear Feeding and so on. In addition, there are parent-child flamingos, alpacas, kangaroos, pigeons and parrots, all of which are not included in the ticket. Tired, there are many rest areas, very human. Of course, the purchase of a battery ticket is also a saving option.
Telling the truth, watching the pandas squatting and smashing the bamboo, it is too cured, I can watch it all day. I was also climbed to the top of my head by a lemur and had a close encounter. There are many people in the popular animal area. It is recommended that everyone come to the park in the morning to play, and parking is very convenient.
Finally, I hope that everyone will watch the animals in a civilized way, and don't feed and beat the glass at will. Love animals, everyone is responsible!

Dear family, do I need to say more about how suitable the Shanghai Wild Animal Park is for taking kids out for a walk?
🪐Recommended reasons:
The Shanghai Wild Animal Park is a theme park that integrates the breeding, exhibition, conservation, science education, and leisure entertainment of wild animals. The park is home to more than 200 species of rare wild animals from both China and abroad, including giant pandas, golden monkeys, takins, crested ibises, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, white rhinos, cheetahs, and more, with a total of over ten thousand animals.
♈️Tour route:
The park is divided into three main visiting areas: the bus tour area, walking area, and water exploration area.
1️⃣, Take the bus to the bus tour area, where there is also a feeding bus. Feed the animals from inside the bus, and the beasts are right before your eyes. Isn't it exciting and thrilling? Both adults and children will scream with excitement~
2️⃣, In the walking area, not only can you see many rare wild animals such as giant pandas, African elephants, Asian elephants, giraffes, chimpanzees, gibbons, lemurs, flamingos, and crested ibises, but there are also many special animal behavior displays and interactive experiences. Peacocks walk around in front of you, red pandas act cute above you... It's so much fun~
3️⃣, For water exploration, take a boat tour of the animal kingdom, limited to 30 minutes. Take a boat to the depths of the water area, where you don't have to worry about getting wet and can enjoy a different animal scenery.
Additionally, if you want to interact with animals up close, this is the right place! Feed the lively and adorable ring-tailed lemurs by hand, take a photo with the elegant and charming giraffes, interact closely with the agile kangaroos, and there are also alpacas, zebras, parrots... There's always one that's right for you!!!

About little tips:
🔸For those with kids, it's highly recommended to bring a stroller, or you can rent one at the park entrance.
🔹Strongly suggest buying an electric tour car ticket, which has five stops + return trip, 45r/person, 25r/person for children under 1.3m. You can get on and off at any stop, but you need to queue at each stop (many people just get on when they see the car coming).
🔸There are also 4-person or 2-person bicycles for rent, which I find very convenient as you don't have to wait for the electric car and can go wherever you want. The only downside is that it's expensive... charged by the hour!
About the itinerary: We followed the electric car's route.
♦️First stop: Carnivore Area.
You can take a free bus or a feeding car (regular 50r/person; VIP 100r/person). The difference between the feeding cars is that the VIP one is a small van with glass windows and a detailed explanation by a guide. The regular one is a mid-sized bus with iron mesh and a simple explanation. The queue is at least one hour, and the tour by car doesn't take long. You can feed only two or three times, and only staff can feed. If you've been to the park before, you might skip this part or just take the free bus.
This stop also has boat rides and a circus. The recently popular Tiger Restaurant is also here, but if you want to see as many animals as possible, there's definitely no time for a meal.
12:40, the feeding car tour ends, heading to the next stop.
♦️Second stop: Cheetah Station.
It stops right in front of the Cheetah Restaurant, where you can also dine with cheetahs (like the Tiger Restaurant, separated by a glass). This walking area also has giraffes (interactive, 30r/person, two short branches each), giant pandas, little penguins, and parrots, etc.
Around 14:00, we finished this stop (including a long queue for giraffe feeding, then visiting the giant pandas while splitting up, one group with kids and the other waiting for the electric car), heading to the next stop.
♦️Third stop: African Elephant Pavilion.
It stops at the entrance to the African Elephant Pavilion, where you can interact with the elephants, 30r for an adult and a child, a small bowl of carrots, about only 5 small pieces, and it's gone quickly...
This stop also has a playground (didn't play) and a theater (didn't watch). We had a quick meal at McDonald's (the food came out quickly, not many choices, but you can ask the staff for some hot water).
Around 15:30, we finished this stop (again, splitting up, one group feeding the elephants, the other going to McDonald's to find seats and buy food), heading to the next stop.
♦️Fourth stop: Tiger Pounce.
We didn't get off at this stop because we were running out of time, so we just took a quick look from the car.
♦️Fifth stop: Small Animal Area.
We wanted to feed the alpacas, but we didn't make it, the holiday interactions ended at 15:30. There are also some baby tigers and lions to see. This stop also offers tiger feeding!
After the last stop, we returned to the main gate by electric car around 17:00. We only saw about half of the park.

The park is very large, and if you don't watch the performances and walk through the whole park, 10,000 steps, 4 hours is enough. There are also many types of animals, and it's great for photo opportunities. The experience is very good for children over 2 years old, but not as strong for children under 2 years old, who might even be a bit scared and need to be held most of the time. The price of food inside the park is high, so it's recommended to bring your own food~

Shanghai Wildlife Park One-Day Tour
☀️Spring is in the air, and visiting animals is super healing.
✏️【Preparation】
➡️Follow the official account for a park map, restaurant and shopping information, theater schedule, ticket purchase information, etc.
🎟️【Tickets】
You can buy them on the official account, and there are various package tickets to consider.
❗Remember to bring your ID card, you'll need it to enter the park.
🚇【Transportation】
✅Take Subway Line 16 to Shanghai Wildlife Park Station Exit 2, then transfer to Hui Nan Line 6.
✅There's a shuttle bus on weekends that goes directly to the wildlife park, with a fare of 1 yuan.
✅The return trip is from the same station where you got off, not across the street. I was also confused at first, but that's how it is, remember to cross the road.
🚶♀️【Tour Route】
Enter the park and visit clockwise, flamingos — Big Mouth Corridor — Sea Lion Theater (watch the show at 10:00), Circus Theater (charges a fee) — take the tour bus — bus tour area — return to parking spot — walking area — Sun Plaza (watch the show at 12:00) — kangaroos — pandas — giraffes — tapirs — hippos — African elephants — Asian elephants — rhinos — zebras — Hundred-Headed Mountain Theater (watch the show at 14:15) monkey area — tiger feeding (15:00-15:30) — Small Animal Paradise — Tropical Bird Garden — Parrot Pavilion — Giant Anteater Area — Flying Bear Villa — raccoons — red pandas — squirrel monkeys & guinea pigs — return to flamingos — leave
Of course, you can also visit counterclockwise.
⏰Time Required: 1 day
❤️My favorite: Small Animal Paradise, really too cute
Watching animals is very healing~~
💡【Tips】
➡️About the feeding car:
👍Pros: Interact with animals, adds fun
👎Cons: The staff do the feeding, not you. The car is all gridded, not photo-friendly.
➡️About the tour bus:
Some guides say to sit on the right side, but actually, it's fine on either side, there are animals on both. What you see and what you capture is up to fate...
➡️About the performances:
Except for the circus, which charges a fee, the rest are free, see the official account for the specific schedule. I stumbled upon the performance at Sun Plaza.
If you want to see all of them, you need to plan your trip well, time it right, it's tiring....
➡️About interactive feeding:
Costs vary from 10-30 yuan, each one charges a fee.
➡️About time arrangement:
Don't go too early, recommended to enter the park between 9:15-9:30, basically in time. Although there are fewer people early on, many animal displays are not yet available, generally more concentrated between 11:00-16:00.
➡️About animal displays:
I stumbled upon several animal displays, about 10 minutes each, the staff will do educational introductions and interact with the animals, it's quite nice if you encounter them.
➡️About food and drink:
There are many restaurants in the park, no worries about food and drink, but it's not cheap, you can bring your own lunch.

Intercontinental of Shanghai Dishui Lake, sleep in the interstellar cabin!
On this suddenly cooling weekend, come and check in the "one island-hotel" in Magic City. The gorgeously returned Intercontinental Hotel of Shanghai Dishui Lake, overlooking the sparkling waves of Dishui Lake, enjoys a private 100,000 square meters island. From an aerial view, the overall shape is like a peach blossom blooming gracefully on the lake, like a beautiful dwelling in the 'Peach Blossom Spring'.
The moment you enter the lobby is undoubtedly amazing, with a 20-meter-high lobby and natural lighting, the top reflects the ripples of water through projection. The reception island adopts a strong golden color and the radiating chandelier extended from the water drop shape, and the wine cabinet on the front of the lobby lounge creates visual tension, easily posting beautiful pictures
*Hidden under the five graceful 'petals' are 281 luxurious guest rooms. At this stage, only the guest rooms in areas C and D are open. These two areas are closer to the lake and have a better view. The guest rooms are spacious and transparent, with suite areas ranging from 85 square meters to 114 square meters.

Is Shanghai Wild Animal Park worth visiting?
Ticket🎫: Single 165, Double 269, Student 82 💰
The park is quite large as shown in the timetable.
The trip is not cheap.🕐 The feeding times for animals closer to the inside are from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, and from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, while for those near the entrance, it's from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Therefore, if you want to feed the animals up close, it is recommended to enter the park before 9:00 am, head to the furthest areas first, and then slowly make your way to the exit. The park closes at 5:30 pm (make sure to keep an eye on the time because there are more free animal shows and circus performances in various squares).
The tiger feeding is very worth watching. 🐯
The feeding price is almost 30💰/person.
We might be the first ones to play amusement rides in the zoo, we played on the Ferris wheel, carousel, and pirate ship, totaling 95💰.
Feeding flamingos🦩30💰, elephants🐘30💰, totaling 60💰.
Had a turkey leg🍗 (personally found it not tasty and the promotion was too exaggerated) 65💰.
Fast food single set meal 50💰.
The park has fast food and noodle restaurants, not just a McDonald's, almost got fooled❌.
Next to the circus, there is a station with a sightseeing bus that enters the beast area. The free bus is a regular coach🚌, and the bus for feeding is the one with yellow railings, 50💰/person.
(Images 9⃣ and 🔟)
Took a boat ride around to see animals for 60💰/person (Image 8⃣).
You can bring your own snacks and water, they don't check bags, and a bottle of water, whether mineral or soft drink, is 10💰 in the park.

Hotspot One: Joyful Autumn Card Hot Sale, Experience the Romantic Autumn Journey
Elegant giraffes, adorable red pandas, flocks of swans, lively giant pandas, bustling monkey world, fun small animal park, exquisite ginkgo fruit, leisurely chrysanthemum fragrance, green, yellow, red, colorful leaves, all showing the park's autumn leisure, unconsciously let people throw away troubles, enjoy this relaxing autumn journey.
In addition to the leisure of nature, the joy and excitement of the amusement park are indispensable. Ferris wheel, around the world, carousel, self-control plane, samba tower, family roller coaster... Colorful amusement facilities, endless laughter. There is also a hot sale of Joyful Autumn Card, buy a card to activate and enjoy entering the park once a day before December 25.
Hotspot Two: Watch Animals Show Love in Various Ways~
Learn 'love' from animals, swans in pairs, either jumping a wonderful water ballet or showing a 'heart' shape; golden monkeys grooming each other is also a way of expressing love.
Hug your loved one tightly, convey the warmest and most sincere feelings; sometimes love is not to be vigorous, a lifetime of two people, mutual help and long flow is true. Bring your loved one to Shanghai Wildlife Park to encounter all the good things.
Hotspot Three: Agile Gibbons
The most characteristic of gibbons is their long arms, which can easily swing back and forth on trees and ropes. Gibbons are a special kind of animal, they can distinguish sex by color, female hair is gray-yellow, milky white, a touch of black on the top of the head, while males are black. But the newborn baby is not mixed color, but follows the mother. The color change during growth is their most attractive place, they can be said to grow and change color, before the age of one, it will slowly turn from yellow to gray, then black, like males, and around the age of 4, if it is male, it will never change color, but if it is female, it will change color in reverse, isn't it amazing. On our outdoor island, there lives a family of three gibbons, now the baby is almost two years old, very naughty and flexible, often seen on the tree bouncing around, jumping up and down, very cute.
Hotspot Four: The Comfortable Life of Giant Pandas
In a blink of an eye, it's already winter, Shanghai has welcomed a big drop in temperature, the weather in the teens is the most comfortable time for giant pandas. Here, the pandas have come outdoors, not only with all kinds of toys, but also with a buffet prepared by the keepers in the exhibition area. Every day, the keepers rack their brains to think of different ways to enrich the daily life of the giant pandas. Food is hidden in different corners of the exhibition area, in different foraging toys, there are foraging balls, sacks, wooden stakes, etc., waiting for the exploration of the giant pandas. After eating and drinking, some pandas lie down and sleep soundly, some are energetic, 'pampering' every toy, it's really a comfortable life~

The zoo is too photogenic
Walking in Shanghai Wild Animal Park is the real deal.
Shanghai Wild Animal Park is so much fun! It's so big that you can't finish touring it in one day.
There are many places where you can feed the animals, interact intimately with them, and there are also many cute cultural and creative products.
