On national holidays and the 1st and 15th of each lunar month, the temple is open from 06:00–17:00. We recommend spending 2–3 hrs here. • Ticket information: Free admission. Incense offerings are available for CNY 20 per set. • Getting there: • Subway: Take Subway Line 11 or 12 and get off at Exit 5. Longhua Temple is right across the street. • Bus: Take Bus No. 41, 44, 56, or other buses to Longhua Station. • Car: Navigate to Longhua Temple. Parking can be difficult during peak hours. • Suggested route: After entering the temple, scan the QR code at the entrance to get incense. Then, walk clockwise around the Longhua Pagoda three times while silently making a wish. Light the incense in the designated area, worship outside the hall, and place the incense in the incense burner. Visit the main halls in order: Maitreya Hall, Heavenly Kings Hall, Mahavira Hall, and Three Sages Hall. Each hall has its own unique architectural style and Buddhist cultural significance. For example, the solemn Mahavira Hall houses a golden Buddha statue at the front and a statue of Guanyin on the back. The two sides of the hall are carved with images of the Twenty Devas and Sixteen Arhats. • Special experiences: • Hand-copying scriptures: Near the vegetarian noodle queue in the dining hall, there are signs for the scripture-copying area. Writing brushes, ink, and copybooks are provided. Scripture copying is available from 09:00–15:30. This activity is not available during incense periods and Buddhist events, so please check in advance. • Cat petting: There are many friendly cats in Longhua Temple. You can bring some cat treats to interact with them. They are well-cared for and add a touch of warmth to the temple. • Food recommendations: Don't miss the vegetarian cuisine at Longhua Temple. The vegetarian noodles are CNY 15 per bowl, with rich and delicious toppings. Noodles and toppings can be refilled for free. Side dishes are CNY 10 per serving, with popular choices like white radish and vegetarian duck. The vegetarian restaurant also offers special snacks like tiaotougao (glutinous rice cake), mung bean cake, and peach blossom pastry, which you can buy to take away. • Nearby attractions: Across from the temple is Longhua Meeting Hall, which has many unique shops and restaurants.
