The Hebei Museum, in collaboration with the Hebei Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, has brought the national treasure, the Jade Burial Suit Sewn with Gold Wire, to Shanghai for an exhibition. I arrived at the exhibition hall around 10:30 AM, and they were already gone. Most of the items on display are from the royal tombs of the Zhongshan Kingdom during the Han Dynasty. There are two main themes: the Enfeoffment of Zhongshan and Eternal Joy. The first theme mainly introduces the origin of the Zhongshan Kingdom, a vassal state during the Han Dynasty, and the history of its kings, showcasing various utensils related to daily life. The second part focuses on jade artifacts and burial items, demonstrating the Han Dynasty's belief in "serving the dead as if they were alive" through lavish burials. The two most eye-catching treasures in the exhibition are, of course, the Jade Burial Suit Sewn with Gold Wire and the royal tent frame. Seeing the ancient camping equipment, I thought of the emperors and generals who once strategized here, and it felt like our lives intersected across time and space at that moment. The exhibition is not large, and an hour is enough to see everything. Currently, there are no free guides, so if you want a printed brochure, you need to arrive early. Lastly, I must commend the quality of the cultural relic souvenirs. I casually bought a Changxin Palace Lantern fridge magnet as a keepsake.
