In 1932, Shanghai's first car ferry, the 'Jinghang', was put into operation at the Minhang Ferry Terminal, marking the beginning of the official vehicle ferry service in the country. Li Yingshi founded the Shanghai Minnan Zhe Long-Distance Bus Co., Ltd., raising funds to build the Shanghai Minnan Zhe Highway, which was the first commercial long-distance bus transportation line in the country.
