I've wanted to visit Yangshupu Power Plant Ruins Park for a long time, as it's said that the sunsets here are incredibly beautiful. Perhaps the Huangpu River here never thought it would have an orange sunset like one with a filter applied, becoming a romantic spot in the city. After all, this was once the first thermal power plant in the Far East and one of the earliest power plants in the world. The 105-meter-high chimney and the preserved old factory buildings are all telling the pride and vicissitudes of a century of industry. The inherent industrial style, after artistic re-creation, has become a strong urban landscape with a rough, frank, powerful, and vibrant style. The once closed work area can now be openly presented to everyone who enters it. Coal stacking bridges, conveyor belts, clear water pools, ash storage tanks... Although the roar of industry has long ceased, the mottled traces always take people back to their memories. The original transfer station on the third floor has been turned into a small history exhibition hall, and the reception staff will enthusiastically tell the history of the power plant. I think this place and the lives of the old workers are inseparably linked, and the preservation of the remains must also be the result they are most happy to see. Apart from the beautiful scenery, there are not many commercial shops here. The only Zero Carbon Café in the park has attracted a lot of attention. 'One Foot' creativity never disappoints; it is transformed from the original water purification pool, and the entire building's electricity comes from a solar energy storage photovoltaic system. In addition to coffee and desserts, it also sells aromatherapy extracted from coffee grounds and other peripherals, a very meaningful environmental attempt. It's a bit of a pity that the nearby Ash Warehouse Art Space has not been open recently, and can only be viewed from a distance.
