Stepping into the Yangshupu Power Plant Ruins Park feels like traveling through a time tunnel, where a century of industrial memories intertwines with the vibrant new riverside life. Once known as the "cradle of China's electric power industry," it has now transformed into a public space that integrates ecology, art, and history. Walking along the river, the industrial relics in the dock area catch your attention. The rusted crane stands silently by the riverbank, once the "steel giant arm" for coal loading and unloading, now transformed into a sculptural landscape that harmonizes with the waves of the Huangpu River. The winding coal conveyor bridge is painted sky blue, with winter jasmine swaying in the breeze on the soil-covered surface. The former coal conveyor belt has become an elevated walkway for visitors to stroll. The architectural renovations within the park are truly ingenious. Two water purification basins have been transformed into "ecological twin flowers": one is a rain garden with swaying pampas grass and a pebble bottom, which regulates rainfall during the wet season, combining functionality with natural charm; the other has been converted into a water purification café, featuring a dome with a pointed arch design that lets in natural light.
