Discover the Shanghai Tushanwan Museum above the museum

Wandering through the long corridor of Shanghai's history Travel takes many forms, no matter which one I choose, it's a rich journey for me. At the southern end of Xujiahui in Shanghai, there is a historical site, once an important landmark in Shanghai, it is Tushanwan. Named after dredging the river and piling up the soil into a "mountain". In the third year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1864), the Shanghai Jesuit Society established the Tushanwan Orphanage here, which ended in 1960, nearly a hundred years. Tushanwan is the cradle of Chinese Western painting and the source of modern Shanghai craftsmanship and Haipai culture, creating many firsts in the history of Chinese craftsmanship. The Tushanwan Museum is the former site of the Tushanwan Orphanage. The museum mainly has three exhibition halls: Tushanwan Art Gallery, Tushanwan Woodworking Department and Tushanwan Printing House. The collections and memorabilia in each exhibition hall have high historical and cultural value; among them, the handed down masterpiece "China Archway" is the treasure of the Tushanwan Museum. This four-pillar three-room pavilion-style building with a single roof is more than 5 meters high, with exquisite carvings and unique style. The history of Tushanwan is engraved with the years of integration and blending of Chinese and Western cultures: Tushanwan is a memorable memory buried in the dust of history in Shanghai and even China.
