True to its name, Hong Kong Taste serves up local comfort food at affordable prices, perfect for when you just crave a good old bowl of rice 🍚 [Char Siu Egg Rice] One of their signature dishes, the juicy Black Iberian pig char siu (BBQ pork) had a smoky crunch with a balanced proportion of fatty and lean meat. The sunny side up eggs with runny yolks and soy sauce flavored the white rice, but the portion was still huge after we had asked for ‘less rice’ that we sadly couldn’t finish all of it 😅 [Braised Beef Brisket Rice] Another must-order, the tender braised beef briskets came in a broth with medicinal herbs and pepper. We particularly enjoyed the flavorful radishes that had soaked up the unique taste of the soup, which definitely elevated this traditional dish 👍🏻 [Vegetables in Wild Mushroom Soup] There was way more variety in the vegetables than we had expected, including mushrooms, carrots, broccoli and cabbages. The wild mushroom soup gave an earthy flavor to the otherwise simple one-dimensional ingredients, making it much more enjoyable to eat our greens 🥬 [Honey Lemon Watercress Juice & Ovaltine] The set included hot drinks or soup, so we added a few dollars to change to cold beverages.
