The Continuation of Long Wah Hin

Scrolling through IG, I saw a friend's Story featuring a cafe with a great vibe, so I immediately DM'd to ask where it was. The place is called Huashan, and it turns out to be the reincarnation of the once-popular Long Wah Hin in Mong Kok. After closing for a few months, it has reemerged with a new name. Essentially, the entire cafe is a photogenic spot. Just pick up your phone, snap a picture, and you're ready to post online for likes. You could call it a cafe, but more accurately, it's a hangout for the alternative crowd, offering its space for music gigs and other events in the evening. So, compared to a regular cafe, there's even less service here. You pick up the menu yourself, write down your desired dishes on a slip of paper, and hand it directly to the owner/staff. As I grow older, my social anxiety worsens, and I tend to decline large group meals. I find two to four people to be the most comfortable company. This time, I invited my friend and her husband to join me for an afternoon tea. To be honest, I came for the Kabon intestines rice roll. The rich sauce, combined with bacon bits, is already appealing, and pairing it with rice rolls is a smart move. This innovative dish has successfully won everyone's applause. Another pasta dish is the spinach juice smoked salmon. At first, we thought it might be a cream spinach sauce or something similar, but we were wrong. It's more like a green pesto without the strong herb taste, which goes well with the al dente pasta. The salmon is just a garnish. Next up are a few appetizers. The buffalo chicken wings are crispy and the sauce is stimulating. Long Wah Hin used to have all-you-can-eat chicken wings, so in a way, this dish can be considered a signature item here. Popcorn shrimp is a more common appetizer, just something to satisfy a craving. I ordered the fried Japanese dumplings, which are tasty and hard to go wrong with. I gobbled up three in no time. On the other hand, the white sauce bacon baked potato mash was unexpectedly delicious. It's not the smoothest version, but it's very fragrant, and I personally like the texture. Everyone was fighting over it. Coffee time, whether it's my latte, Oni's cappuccino, or Brother T's cold brew, all received everyone's approval.
