Crowds gathered in many places

#getgoing2025 In the first two days of the Chinese New Year, crowds gathered in many places in China for the Spring Festival celebration. In east China's Shanghai Municipality, the Yuyan Garden Lantern Festival, which is one of China's intangible cultural heritages, displays hundreds of delicate lanterns that illuminate the historic garden to celebrate the Spring Festival. The Yuyan Garden Lantern Festival, one of the most lively lantern festivals in the region since the Ming Dynasty, attracts many visitors for its Year of the Snake exhibition. The festival showcases the Chinese stunning tradition of the Spring Festival with the elegant art of lantern craft. A heritage market also adds to the occasion with exhibitions and traditional crafts. Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) held the annual Chinese New Year parade on Wednesday, the first day of the Chinese New Year. Crowds gathered along the streets of Tsim Sha Tsui cheering and applauding as floats featuring pandas and lanterns rolled by. In between the floats were lion and dragon dances and other multicultural performances like street dance and samba dance. Besides the parade, there was also a dazzling fireworks display over Hong Kong SAR's Victoria Harbour on Thursday. More than just a show, the fireworks display is marked as a collection of festive celebrations and hope for the new year.
