2024 Seattle Mariners Game Viewing Experience

#January2025 Today was my first time watching a Major League Baseball (MLB) game in Seattle, at T-Mobile Park, a stadium with a retractable roof and a unique baseball atmosphere in the Pacific Northwest. This game was the Mariners' last game of the season. The atmosphere was very lively and the fans came to cheer for the team with excitement and a little reluctance. Pre-match atmosphere and stadium experience Coming out of the subway station, I was surrounded by fans wearing Mariners jerseys, the most common of which was of course Julio Rodríguez's No. 44 jersey. The aroma of barbecue wafting from the food stalls outside the stadium makes people want to buy the famous Ivar’s fish and chips or the Seattle Dog. After entering the stadium, I walked around the stadium. The view of T-Mobile Park is quite wide, and I can see the game clearly no matter which seat I am in. The **"Hit It Here Café"** in center field and the beer garden (The 'Pen) in left field are both popular viewing areas, especially suitable for eating while watching the game. Game process Today's game is between the Mariners and the Texas Rangers. Since the qualification for the playoffs is still uncertain, this game is crucial. At the beginning of the game, Mariners ace pitcher Luis Castillo took the mound and struck out in the first inning, and the audience erupted in deafening cheers. The Mariners' young star, Julio Rodríguez, hit a beautiful double in the third inning and the entire stadium stood up and cheered for him. The game entered the seventh inning with the Mariners leading 4-3, but Corey Seager of the Rangers hit a home run at a critical moment, instantly making the score 4-5, and the atmosphere suddenly became tense. In the ninth inning, the Mariners had their last chance to attack. Their star player Rodríguez stepped into the batter's box and the audience chanted his name. Unfortunately, he was struck out in the end, and the team lost 4-5 and failed to advance to the playoffs. The fans at the scene sighed with regret. Post-match thoughts Although the Mariners lost the game, it was exciting to experience the atmosphere of MLB on site. The enthusiasm of the fans, the design of the stadium, the delicious food, and the thrilling pace of the game all made this game-watching experience an unforgettable memory. I hope I’ll have the opportunity to come to Seattle again in the future to watch the Mariners fight in the playoffs!
