Paintings and sculptures around the corner

Piazza del Popolo (literal meaning People's Square) was designed in neoclassical style by architect Giuseppe Valadier in 1811. Together with Porta del Popolo (gate), they are often the first to greet and welcome the newcomers to the city. From here, one walks along the Via del Corso which leads all the way to the Trevi Fountain and other tourist attractions. However, before heading there, it is definitely worth taking your time to admire the inner facade of the gate which is designed by Bernini. If you still want more, then do stop by at the Basilica Parrocchiale Santa Maria del Popolo and stroll around and be ready to be amazed by the design of Raphael, paintings of Caravaggio and sculptures of Bernini. #celebratewithtrip #rome
