Quzhou Museum

Established in 1985, Quzhou Museum was originally housed in the Kong Family Ancestral Hall. The new museum officially opened on September 23, 2004, and became free to the public in 2005. Quzhou Museum has amassed a large collection of natural, historical, and artistic artifacts, including the "Lixian Jiangshan Dragon," a new genus and species of lizard-like dinosaur bone fossil; stone tools, ceramics, gold and silver wares, bronzes, jades, miscellaneous items, calligraphy, paintings, and ancient books from the Neolithic Age to the Republican period; and modern revolutionary historical relics. As of May 2018, the museum had received over 7 million visitors, with an average of over 1,000 visitors per day. As of 2022, the museum's collection includes 13,319 pieces/sets of cultural relics, including 752 pieces/sets of precious cultural relics, and the total annual number of visitors reached 87,121.
