Qingdao is actually not very hot during May Day, and you can wear thin long sleeves. You must go to the seaside on a sunny day, as it's not very attractive on cloudy days and lacks atmosphere. As for attractions, you can go to the Old Stone Man to watch the sunrise, if you can get up early on a good weather morning. Then there's the place I mentioned in the group, which is relatively less crowded. One is the Seaside Scenic Area, where you can walk along the coastline. There's a platform where you can sit and watch the sea and the sunset. Another is Huiquan Road; you can navigate to the parking lot of Badaguan Hotel and walk from there, and it's also not very crowded. In May, the spring flowers in Zhongshan Park may have already bloomed, but it's still worth a visit if you have time. Then you can go to Xiaoyushan or Signal Hill to watch the sunset. Xiaoyushan offers a view of the No.1 Bathing Beach, and Signal Hill probably has a panoramic view of the old city area of Qingdao, both are very nice. There's also Dabaodao, Zhongshan Road, the Catholic Church, and Zhanqiao Pier, which are all close to each other near Qingdao Station. Take the subway and get off directly at Zhanqiao Pier from Qingdao Station. Stroll around and you'll reach Dabaodao, where there are many interesting shops suitable for photography. Near the Catholic Church, there's something like Anna's Castle, which I've never entered, but it's fine to just take photos outside. There's also Yinyuxiang, a newly developed area that's quite interesting. The decorations are very beautiful, and there are coffee shops and the like, suitable for a city walk. I don't think there's much to do at May Fourth Square, but you can go for a walk in the evening, it's good for a stroll.
