Discovering the Underground City of Pompeii

📍 Pompeii Visited Pompeii during a trip to Southern Italy Surprisingly, the roads and sidewalks were clearly separated. If you look closely at the streets, there are round holes, which were apparently used to tie up carriages. One regret I had during my visit to Pompeii was that, although I traveled freely in Southern Italy, it would have been better to take a guided tour specifically for Pompeii. The site is incredibly vast, and it’s hard to understand everything on your own. For instance, I think this might have been a public bathhouse. The murals and structures inside were fascinating to see preserved like this. A place where time has stopped—Pompeii.
