The Grand Canal Museum of China

The Grand Canal Museum of China is located in the Canal Cultural Plaza in Gongshu District, Hangzhou City, adjacent to the southern end marker of the Grand Canal - Gongchen Bridge. It is the first large thematic museum in China with a focus on canal culture. The museum aims to collect, protect, and research canal cultural materials comprehensively and from multiple perspectives, reflecting and displaying the natural scenery and historical culture of the Grand Canal. It is the opening work of Hangzhou's canal protection and renovation project series 'one museum, two sites, three parks, two belts, six ports, and fifteen bridges', and it is a beautiful landscape on the bank of the ancient Grand Canal. The Grand Canal of Beijing-Hangzhou is a great engineering feat created by the ancient laboring people of our country.
