New charm of the ancient town.

Shuangxi Ancient Town, also known as Zicheng, is located in the northeast of Pingnan County, Ningde City. It is named after its location in a mountain basin, surrounded by peaks, and two streams winding and converging from the south and north to the west. The cultural history of Shuangxi Ancient Town can be traced back to the end of the Tang Dynasty. In the second year of Qianhua of the Later Liang Dynasty of the Five Dynasties (913), the ancestor of the Lu family came here to start a business, and it has been more than 1,100 years so far. It is undoubtedly a thousand-year-old ancient town with a long history and profound cultural heritage. The local proverb goes, "Lu's family came first, then Shuangxi. Shuangxi came first, then Pingnan." As a main traffic artery connecting the eastern and northern parts of Fujian, during the Yongzheng period, the Pingnan County Yamen was established here and maintained for 200 years. The ancient town has a simple folk style, and various ancient streets, alleys, ancient buildings, ancient houses and cultural relics are well preserved. The numerous historical sites in Shuangxi Ancient Town add a lot of cultural charm to it. The well-preserved ancient buildings include the Confucian Temple, the City God Temple, the Ruiguang Tower, the Lingyan Temple, the Beiyan Temple, and ancient houses.
