Wat Saen Muang Ma: A Unique Tai Lue Temple

🏡 Wat Saen Muang Ma, originally named Wat Mang, was built during the reign of King Rama I around 1808 AD by the people of Mang City, Yunnan Province, who were relocated by the ruler of Nan. Key attractions within the temple include: 🏠 The Viharn: Featuring Tai Lue architectural style, the roof is layered with multiple tiers and adorned with carved finials shaped like swans or nagas holding jewels. The wooden carvings on the doors and walls are intricately designed and painted in vibrant colors. 🐯 The entrance to the Viharn: Designed with three porches, each representing three protective animals believed to safeguard Buddhism—Naga, Tiger, and Lion.
