Worship the most exquisite Buddha statue of Lanna

🏡 Wat Sri Umong Kham, built in 1846, is commonly referred to as "Wat Sung" due to its prominent location on a high hill. The hill was formed from soil excavated by villagers to create a large pond. 🧱 It is believed that the temple was constructed during the Ayutthaya period, around the 20th–21st Buddhist century, as evidenced by the discovery of sandstone Buddha statues and other sandstone carvings, such as deities and animal figures, from the Phayao sandstone era. Key attractions within the temple include: 🏠 The Ubosot (ordination hall), which houses Phra Chao Lan Tue or Luang Pho Ngam Muang Rueang Rit, a bronze Buddha statue in the Mara Vichaya posture. This statue is acclaimed as the most beautiful Buddha image of Lanna, created during the reign of King Muang Sroi Phayao around 1515.
