Beautiful Thai Yai architecture temple in Phayao

🏡 Wat Si Chom Rueang, also known as Wat Chong Kham, is a temple of the Tai Yai (Shan) community, established in 1893 during a period of unrest in Phayao. Many locals fled to Lampang. 🏘 Around 1904, they returned to restore the town, including the Tai Yai community, who renovated Wat Chong Kham and invited Burmese monks from Lampang. Since then, Burmese monks have resided at the temple, making it a blend of Burmese and Thai Yai art. Key attractions within the temple include: 🏘 The viharn and monk's residence, showcasing Thai Yai architecture, with Lanna-style Buddha images adorned with gold leaf.
