Introduction to Nantong: Nantong has a history of more than 1000 years since its establishment, and is a national historical and cultural city known as the "Gateway to the Yangtze River and the Sea". In modern Chinese history, Nantong established the first normal school, museum, textile school, meteorological station, and other institutions, earning the title of "China's first modern city". Nantong has a developed economy and is a modern port city in the Yangtze River Delta. Transportation advice: From Nantong West Station to the city center, you can take the subway 🚇 and arrive in half an hour. Take bus 🚌 41 or 45 directly to the city center from Nantong Station. There are small electric donkeys 🛵 for transportation in the city center. Ticket price: No ticket needed during the day. Daytime parking: Parking lot No.1 of Haohe Scenic Area (opposite to the visitor center pier). Nearby attractions: The parking lot across the street is the tourist center pier, the China Audit Museum, the China Abacus Museum, the Haoxi Academy, and the Nantong Hao River Museum. Take a boat ride on the Haohe River at night: 60 yuan per adult (there is only one boat at 6:45 pm, after which you can only charter a boat). The lights on both sides of the river are beautiful, and you can listen to the tour guide's explanation while sitting on the boat, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the river and learning about the stories of Nantong and its various buildings. Accommodation recommendation: It is recommended to stay in a hotel near the subway station by the Hohe River for convenient travel. I stayed at the Morrison Hotel for two nights this time, which was clean and comfortable with good value for money. It is a 5-minute walk from the subway station and within walking distance to the city center commercial area.
