SSR Botanic Garden - Mauritius

#hellohalloween We visited the Botanical Gardens in Pamplemousses and cannot agree with the criticism that it is unclean. For us he was very tidy and cleaners were everywhere. Admission costs per person 300 rupees and is reasonable in our view. In front of the premises is a large parking lot. This is free of charge. Guided tours are offered after the entrance. We didn't make use of it. The park has an area of 37 hectares and was built in 1736 and laid out in its present form in 1767. The park stands out with a huge selection of old trees from all over the world, which also provide shade at the same time. The main attraction is the lotus pond and the rectangular pond with Amazon giant water lilies (Victoria amazonica) created in 1930. Unfortunately, not so many leaves were visible in our time. We spent about 4 hours in the park and enjoyed it. For is a clear recommendation.
