Each panel beside the doors was more than decoration—it was a living narrative, carved in 3D relief, telling the life of Jesus with astonishing clarity and reverence. The first wall I encountered depicted the Nativity. Mary’s gentle gaze, Joseph’s protective stance, and the infant Jesus nestled in a manger—all rendered with such tenderness that I felt the hush of Bethlehem settle around me. The folds of their robes, the texture of straw, even the expressions of the shepherds and animals—each detail invited reflection. As I moved from one doorway to another, the story unfolded like a visual gospel. The Baptism in the Jordan shimmered with movement—John’s hand raised in blessing, water cascading over Jesus’ bowed head. The Temptation in the desert showed a stark contrast of light and shadow, with Jesus standing firm against the whispering figure of Satan.
