"Madaba Archaeological Park" is located in the city of Madaba, 30km from Amman. Madaba is known worldwide as the "city of mosaics". The archaeological park is centered around the Church of the Virgin, and is quite large for its entrance, and has more mosaics than the Church of St. George!? I think. The mosaics are said to be from around the 6th century, but they are well preserved and it's hard to believe they are 1500 years old.
