Machu Picchu: A must-see before you die

Machu Picchu is a well-known and highly coveted destination. You also need to plan your time to get to the spectacular views. From Lima, Peru, take a plane for about 1 hour to Cusco, then a bus for about 2 hours from Cusco to Ollantaytambo Station, then a 1.5 hour train ride from Ollantaytambo Station to Machupicchu Village, then a 30 minute bus ride from Machupicchu Village. On the way to Machupicchu you go along the valley, but it is best to avoid the rainy season from November to April as there is a risk of landslides and rising rivers.
