The Taizhou Fu City Wall, also known as the "Great Wall of Jiangnan," was first built during the Eastern Jin Dynasty and further developed during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It served as a "model" and "blueprint" for the Ming Great Wall in the north. Its unique structure, standardized form, and well-preserved condition are rare in China. The city wall starts from Lansheng Gate in the east, winds along the ridge of Beigu Mountain to Yanxia Pavilion, descends steeply through the cliffs to the east bank of the Lingjiang River, and extends to the foot of Jin Mountain. It follows the contours of the mountain, overlooking the river, and is especially steep in the north.
