This temple was built during the Qianyuan period of the Tang Dynasty, that is, 758 to 759 AD. Later, it was expanded in the second year of Jinhuangtong (1142). The tablets in the temple record that it was repaired in the Jin, Yuan, Ming, Qing, Republic of China and other dynasties. The main hall and the east and west dressing buildings we see today are all Jin Dynasty buildings, while the others are in the Ming and Qing style. In 2001, this place was listed as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units, which is amazing! If you want to go there, the address is about 1 km west of Lingchang Village, Chongwen Town, Lingchuan County, Jincheng, and only 3 kilometers away from Lingchuan County. When driving by yourself, please navigate to "Xixi Erxian Temple" and be sure to add the word "Xixi" to avoid going wrong, because there are two Erxian Temples in Lingchuan. After arriving, there is a parking lot in front of the temple, and you can park for free, which is very considerate! In terms of opening hours, it closes at 17:30 in winter and 18:30 in summer. The best thing is that not only is admission free, but you can also receive a wisp of incense at the door and feel the piety and tranquility of the ancient temple. What a surprise! I have also planned the tour route for everyone: Shanmen (Dance Building) - Xian Hall - Middle Hall - Main Hall - Side Halls - Langfang - Dressing Building - Side Hall - Er Hall. This route has many highlights: A. There are three Jin Dynasty buildings in one temple, which is very rare! In particular, the two dressing buildings in the east and west are the earliest pavilion-style buildings in Jincheng area and are also masterpieces of pavilion-style buildings in the Jin Dynasty. B. There are four 1,200-year-old junipers and two ancient lilacs in the yard, which vividly display the aesthetics of ancient architecture and are so beautiful! C. The temple also preserves 29 inscriptions from past dynasties, including reconstruction steles, inscription steles, forbidden covenant steles and other types. It is like a museum of inscriptions. In particular, "Rebuilding the Monument of the Temple of the Two Immortals in Zhenze" written by Zhao Anshi, the number one scholar in Lingchuan history, is a precious material for studying the legend of the two immortals.
