Explore the Taihang Mountains with Stamps (Part 2)

Wangmang Ridge "Without visiting Wangmang Ridge, you cannot truly know the Taihang Mountains." The fourth stamp, "Wangmang Ridge," features the Wangmang Ridge Scenic Area in Lingchuan County, Shanxi Province. The most iconic landscape of Wangmang Ridge is the flat-topped landform at the peak of the Taihang Mountains. It boasts the highest peak in the southern Taihang Mountains, as well as stunning canyon scenery like Xiya Valley. The Wangmang Ridge Scenic Area is home to a variety of natural wonders, including unique peaks, strange rocks, steep cliffs, cliff-hanging roads, and idyllic peach blossom fields. However, the most captivating sight for visitors is the red sun rising through the morning mist on Wangmang Ridge. Sightseeing buses start taking visitors up the mountain to wait for the sunrise as early as 4 am. Guoliang Sky Road The fifth stamp, "Guoliang Sky Road," highlights Guoliang Village in Huixian County, Henan Province. The village itself is not the main attraction, but rather the cliff-hanging road that the villagers carved out in the last century with a spirit akin to "Yugong moving mountains," connecting the village to the outside world. Today, Guoliang Village and the cliff-hanging road have become part of the Wanxian Mountain Resort and Tourist Area in the southern Taihang Mountains, attracting visitors interested in both culture and nature, along with other scenic areas like Nanping, Zijing Mountain, and Luojie Village. In fact, it only takes about an hour to drive from Wanxian Mountain Scenic Area to Wangmang Ridge. Wangwu Cave Heaven Wangwu Mountain in Jiyuan, Henan Province, is located at the southern end of the Taihang Mountains. It is revered in Taoism as the "Taoist Realm" and the "First Cave Heaven in the World." In 2006, it was listed as a UNESCO Global Geopark. The sixth stamp, "Wangwu Cave Heaven," comes from the Wangwu Mountain Global Geopark, which includes not only the Wangwu Mountain Scenic Area but also the Milky Way Gorge and the Yellow River Three Gorges. The most common natural landscape in Wangwu Mountain is the flat-topped landform with cliffs, and the 92% vegetation coverage and Taoist temple complex add to its charm. Both Wangwu Mountain and Wangmang Ridge are excellent choices for viewing red leaves in the autumn in the Taihang Mountains. Whether it's natural or cultural, the Taihang Mountains offer a wealth of tourism resources. This set of special stamps, "Taihang Mountains," featuring ink wash paintings with warm color gradients, not only provides a visual feast but also offers travelers a unique perspective for selecting travel routes and scenic areas in the Taihang Mountains.
