Nanshentou Erxian Temple, Lingchuan County, Shanxi

The existing main hall is a Jin Dynasty building, and there are 20 square meters of Qing Dynasty murals on the east and west walls of the hall. The mural on the east wall is a picture of the two immortals rewarding the army, with an ink-painted mountain forest as the background. In the middle of the top of the picture, the two immortals have high buns, delicate faces, and a dignified and quiet demeanor. They are wearing red clothes and sitting under the pine trees in the mountains, greeting the soldiers to eat. In front of the two immortals, there are stoves, pots, kettles, and other kitchen utensils. In front of the stove, a soldier and a general sit on the ground, holding a bowl in one hand and chopsticks in the other, talking and eating. In the lower right corner of the picture, a soldier is holding a document and riding a fast horse, followed by another soldier. In addition, there are several soldiers at the bottom of the picture who seem to be patrolling and standing guard for the main force. The whole picture is composed in a panoramic style, depicting the mythical story of the two immortals appearing in the Northern Song Dynasty and providing porridge for the Song army. The mural on the west wall is a picture of the Eight Immortals celebrating a birthday, with the two immortals as the center, depicting the grand scene of the gods from the sky, sea, and land coming to pay homage. The two immortals are wearing red robes, cloud shoulders, high buns, and crowns, sitting on the fairy platform, looking at each other and talking. The gods, including the Eight Immortals and Sun Wukong, have different postures, different costumes, and unique mounts.
